The Municipality of Leamington is requesting bids from qualified contractors for the supply of all services, materials and equipment to remove and replace approximately 255 meters (837 feet) of a wood privacy fence. The fence separates a residential area from the Municipal trail and is located on the west side of the Leamington Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre located at 249 Sherk Street in Leamington, Ontario. Refer to Figure 1 below, which illustrates the location of the fence. The construction of this fence will be directly adjacent to a public parking lot and Municipal recreational trail. The contractor shall ensure proper safety measures are included in the scope of work and price. Safety measures shall include, but are not limited to, the safe passage of pedestrians and vehicles around the construction site and the receiving, moving and storage of construction material and vehicles. All utility locates are the responsibility of the contractor and shall be included in the scope of work. The existing 6 high fence was constructed of pressure treated wood. The majority of the 4x4 support posts have rotted at ground level and broken off. The fence is being temporarily supported by steel stakes and bracing. The existing fence, including all panels, posts, gates, temporary supports, footings, fasteners and hardware shall be removed and properly disposed of. The cost of the complete removal and disposal of the existing fence shall be included in the bid. The intent of this request is to obtain the services of a qualified contractor to replace an existing wood privacy fence along a section of Municipal trail within the Municipality of Leamington.
