Site work for a water / sewer project in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Darby Creek Trail Extension Phase 1 Bidders are required to submit a surety in the form of a bond or equivalent meeting 10% of the overall bid price in compliance with the contract documents. Bid bonds will be returned to the non-awarded bidders upon the execution of the contract. The successful Bidder shall also be required to provide a Performance Bond in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount within ten (10) calendar days of receipt of written notice of acceptance of the Bid. There is no physical public bid opening for this project, bids will be revealed via the PennBid website. A uniform fee of 0.333% (of 1 percent) of the bid amount (up to $5,000) is applied only to bidders who are awarded contracts. No fees apply to bidders who submit without being awarded the contract. All interested parties must submit questions via the web based system, by the posted deadline for questions. Bidders are not permitted to contact the Township Engineer or staff directly. The Contract Documents contain all pertinent regulations. The Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept any portion of any bid, and to award Contracts as is deemed best for the Township. A. Upper Darby Township is proposing to construct a multi-use recreational trail within the Township. The trail is proposed along Darby Creek with portion ofthe trail being located within a floodplain and floodway. Trail construction primarily includes asphalt pavement, however, there are incidental improvements that include Rain Gardens, Retaining Walls, and two (2) pedestrian bridges. Stormwater management inlets and piping are also proposed as part ofthis project. B. The proposed trail is located along existing sections of trail along Darby Creek with new sections are trail proposed within Gillespie Park. The project is being bid under two (2) separate phases, with the current phase (i.e., Phase 1) including the construction of the asphalt trail, stormwater management improvements and retaining walls. Phase 2 will include the work necessary for the construction of the Pedestrian Bridges and abutment. It should be noted that work within Phase 1 includes all necessary work to connect into the pedestrian bridges and required coordination. CLARIFICATION DEADLINE : 9/7/2021 4:00 PM
