Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Wilmington, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the construction of a fitness / recreation center; for site work for a fitness / recreation center; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

As of June 21, 2022, construction is expected to begin in late August 2022. This project is for design & construction of an approximately 6.5-acre site. consisting of natural turf multi-purpose recreational fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, pavilion (including restrooms), gazebo, outdoor fitness equipment, pedestrian circulation, stormwater management, with site and performance lighting. The site is to be located on the current site of the Gazebo Recreation Complex adjacent to the UNCW Student Recreation Center and the new Student Village. In order to offer CONSTRUCTION Services (General Contracting, Electrical Contracting, Plumbing, Heating and Fire Sprinkler Contracting, or Landscape Contracting) and DESIGN Services (Architecture, Engineering, or Landscape Architecture) as part of the response to this RFQ, the proposing firms must be properly licensed to provide Construction Services and Design Services in the State of North Carolina. Proposing firms must submit THREE (3) copies of the qualifications information package. In the interest of cost-savings to the Design-Builders, consistency of the submittals and more efficient use of time by the pre-selection committee, the qualifications information package should not include any notebooks, binders, tab, clips, etc. The format should be 8-1/2" x 11" pages stapled in the upper left-hand corner. The qualifications information package should not exceed forty (40) single-sided pages or twenty (20) double-sided pages, not including the cover. E-mail and Fax submittals will not be accepted. Planned completion of the construction documents is anticipated end of January 2022. Short listed firms will be notified by September 17, 2021, and interviews are anticipated September 20, 2021. The design-build contractor will be expected to attend interviews on this date if shortlisted. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
