Renovation of a medical facility in Gray, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
Attention is called to the provisions for equal employment opportunity and to the requirement that not less than Davis-Bacon minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the specifications must be paid on this project. This project is covered under the requirements of Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968. Section 3 Business Concerns are encouraged to apply. Contract, if awarded, will be on lump sum basis. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after time has been called on date of bid opening. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check made payable to Jones County, Georgia, Board of Commissioners, in an amount not less than 5% of the base bid. The bidder to whom award is made shall submit a Payment Bond and a Performance Bond, both in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. The bonding company/surety must be registered with The Surety Association of America (SAA) and be certified by the Secretary of the United State Department of Treasury pursuant to the Act of July 30, 1947 (61 Stat. 646, as amended; 6 U.S.C. 6-13). Bonds shall be executed by a company licensed and authorized to do business in the State of Georgia; and be accompanied by a power of attorney certifying that the persons executing the bond have the authority to do so. If a contract is awarded, the successful bidder will be required to indemnify, defend and hold the County harmless from and against all claims, loss, liability, cost and expenses, including attorney's fees, howsoever arising or incurred, alleging damage to property or injury to, or death of, any person, arising out of, or attributable, to the contractor's performance of the contract awarded. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Jones County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technicalities and to select the proposal that is in the best interest of Jones County.
