As of August 29, 2022 an architect has been selected Design Professional Services for Project No. J-385-DP "Campus-wide HVAC and Access Control Infrastructure" Savannah State University, Savannah, Georgia. Deadline for written questions/requests for clarification (see Section 6). 09/08/21 4:00pm The Design Professional Base Fee will be approximately $240,000, which includes Basic Design and Construction Administration services. Anticipated Design Professional service requirements include the services as listed in Item 3 below "Scope of Services". The Design Professional firm is required to submit a fee proposal that also includes anticipated fees for any specialty consultants needed and all reimbursable expenses such as printing and travel in the Step II - Request for Proposals (RFP) phase. The HVAC project component includes the comprehensive upgrade and installation of campus HVAC building automation systems, retro commissioning and evaluation of existing HVAC systems, and priority upgrade of HVAC equipment. The Access control component includes installation of card entry system for exterior doors of campus buildings, reconfiguration of the main campus entrance, road and access point, construction of a 3,000 GSF visitor center at the main campus entrance, and upgrade/installation of automated gates at secondary entrances. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time. The items listed below shall apply to J-385 SSU - Campus Wide HVAC & Access Control Infrastructure project. As noted in the bidding documents, the scope of this project comprises: 1. Construction of an approximately 3,900 SF visitor center at the main campus entrance. 2. Reconfiguration of the main campus entrance, road, and access point, including a new guard station. 3. The upgrade/installation of automated gates at secondary entrances. 4. The installation of a card entry system for select exterior doors on multiple campus buildings.
