Renovation of a medical facility in Norman, Oklahoma. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
If the bid exceeds $50,000, a cashier's check, a certified check or surety bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid shall be delivered to Construction and Properties prior to the Bid Opening. Security checks will be returned to all but the three lowest bidders after the bid opening. The three lowest bid securities will be retained until the contract is awarded. It is the intention of these specifications to have all existing painted surfaces at CRC, in patient care areas, repainted, including painting over the current murals. All paint will be applied at the manufacturer's recommended mil thickness per coat. In any case, the application shall be sufficiently heavy to achieve a pleasingly uniform color and lucid effect. Murals will be coated with primer, such as Kilz, to ensure there is no seeping of previous paint colors. Successful bidder shall supply a 12"x 12" sample of each type and paint color for CRC's approval before any paint is applied. This sample will be applied at the job site in an area as permitted by the facility. Contractors shall supply all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to complete painting project. All paint shall be applied by a brush or roller except where other applications are permitted in writing by CRC. All previously painted areas shall be repainted. All articles affixed to the building, such as hardware and light fixtures, removed by the painting contractor, shall be replaced after completing painting of that area. All electrical plates shall be removed, stored carefully, and reinstalled after the paint has dried. It shall be the responsibility of the painting contractor to record any area that was identified during the project walkthrough as NOT TO BE PAINTED. Paint color(s) shall be selected and approved by CRC. All paints and materials shall be first line, brand name and approved by CRC before work is started. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to provide approved storage for materials and equipment at a location approved by CRC. No paint, materials or equipment shall be stored in consumer areas. All staging, scaffolds, ladders, etc. shall be maintained at all times in a manner to meet OSHA safety requirements and not be hazardous to CRC personnel or consumers. Any exits will be maintained to meet the Fire Marshal's regulations. All non-painted areas, such as floors, glass, etc. shall be protected. Upon completion of work, the contractor shall remove all splattering and remove all paint related rubbish from the premises. The paint contractor shall be held responsible for any related damages. The paint contractor will supply two five gallon containers of each paint used. The paint shall be unopened containers, identified by brand, color and formula for CRC's use. The painting contractor shall also supply closeout documents listing all paint colors (including formulas), paint manufacturer's warranty, safety data sheets and product specification sheets for all products actually used for the project. Contractor shall check all walls for loose paint or caulking. Caulk any open mortar joint, expansion joint and doorframes. Repair all defects in drywall surfaces. Add scaling putty when missing. Apply texture to drywall to match surrounding walls when necessary. At the end of each working period, the contractor will remove all materials used during the day from the patient care areas. Contractor must supply CRC with current safety plan. Contractor must work within preapproved work hours. Contractor will follow Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) privacy and security standards at all times.
