As of August 31, 2022, a design engineer has been selected. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference The City of Manvel is seeking a qualified engineering firm to prepare design construction plans for the City of Manvel City Center. Upon selection, the firm will qualify to do work for future City water, sewer, drainage, and paving projects, where authorized. The City of Manvel (City) hereby solicits SOQs from qualified engineering firms to prepare design construction plans for the City of Manvel City Center. The City intends to select one firm from this solicitation. The City of Manvel has recently acquired 160 acres to be used for a City Center Complex on the north side of Manvel. Some of the anticipated facilities within this Complex include a Police Station, City Hall, Indoor Sports Arena, Parking Garage, Soccer Fields, Baseball Fields, and an Outdoor Theater. Since its inception, the City of Manvel has primarily existed as a rural community. Large acre homesteads, farmlands, and oilfields were the predominant land uses for many years. However, the City has experienced tremendous growth over the last 10 years. Due to continued urban development from Houston, residential subdivisions and commercial developments are steadily increasing in and around the City of Manvel. As the City continues to grow, it is City Council's desire to prepare for that growth with adequate and appropriate City facilities. The selected firm will be prepared to provide design construction plans, bid phase services, and construction administration and oversight services.
