This project will be to design and construct a Vivarium on the UNT Discovery Park Campus located at 3940 N. Elm Street, Denton, Texas. This project will be an approximately 7,000 gross square foot (GSF) structure which will relocate the Vivarium currently located in the Science Research Building, 2nd Floor to the Discovery Park campus. The Design/Build team will be provided with an abbreviated Vivarium program with final site selection made and a Facility Conditions Assessment for Discovery Park. The abbreviated program will need to be validated by the Design/Build team. A relocation plan will need to be created with assistance from the Design/Build team with end user input. The Vivarium will include animal holding rooms, surgery space, appropriate containment areas, cage washing, and other required supporting spaces and equipment. Vivarium will also have a separate HVAC system as required. The project may also include laboratory spaces adjacent or near the Vivarium. UNTS anticipates the design completion in June 2022 with final construction completion in May 2023. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
