Oakton Fire Station - 2024 (Providence District): $18,000,000 is estimated to be required to renovate/expand or replace the existing 2 bay fire station built in 1983. The station requires upgrades to major building systems, enhanced shower and locker facilities for female personnel, and an additional apparatus bay for future growth. Other building space deficiencies include personal protective gear storage, physical fitness area, telecommunications room, medical supply storage, and decontamination area. This project is proposed as part of the 2024 Public Safety Bond Referendum. As of August 26, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2032 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2023. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
