Cost Range: $5,000,000.00 - $10,000,000.00 This project provides for the furnishing of all labor, material, equipment and work necessary for the removal of the three-span overhead steel rolled beam bridge and replace with a two-span prestressed bulb-tee beam bridge. The contract also includes reconstruction of T-383 (Cassel Road) and structure NB-300, utility relocations, drainage modifications, signing and pavement markings, and the construction of the Turnpike median/shoulder. Work items include, but are not limited to: 16,133 CY Excavation Various Classes 18,930 SY Superpave Asphalt Mixtures, Various Courses and Various Depths 240 CY Subbase (No. 2A) 314 LF Drainage Pipe, Various Sizes and Types 62.5 LF Guide Rail, Various Types 3,494 LF Temporary Concrete Barrier/Glare Screen 1,187 CY Cement Concrete, Various Classes 2,972 CY Selected Borrow Excavation, Structure Backfill 26 CY Selected Borrow Excavation Rock, Class R-4 5,122 SF Architectural Surface Treatment 881 LF Prestressed Concrete PA Bulb-Tee Beam, Various Sizes 157,900 LB Reinforcement Bars, Plain and Epoxy Coated 96 LB Stainless Steel Reinforcement Bars Milepost A-45.94 is located approximately 2 miles north of the Quakertown Interchange, Exit 44, and approximately 10 miles south of the Lehigh Valley Interchange, Exit 56, in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
