This project is to replace the existing Bulk Sterilizers at Pressey Hall and the Psychology Building. The work will include (but not be limited to) demolition and removal of the existing Sterilizers, modifying all current services as necessary to provide the required service connections and capacities needed for the operation of the new Bulk Sterilizers. OSU will provide the new Bulk Sterilizers for both locations. The DB Contractor will be responsible for modifying the existing spaces as required, evaluating existing sanitary lines and fixing any issues that may be necessary, installing a new recessed floor pit at Psychology, providing/modifying all MEP services required for operation, providing the installation of all equipment, and providing coordination and testing to confirm proper operation. OSU will continue to operate the Bulk Washers in each space during the construction period therefore, the work areas will need to be isolated to allow OSU to operate without disruption. The Owner will be requesting a GMP as part of the Best Value selection process; therefore self-performed work will be approved, subject to the firm submitting an acceptable subcontractor plan. The short-listed firms are treated as approved subcontractors for this purpose. There will be no obligation for the selected firm to solicit bids from subcontractors for the purpose of comparing the price of proposed self-performed work. In addition, the contingency utilization provisions related to the award of a low subcontractor bid are waived. As required by the Agreement, and as properly authorized, provide the following categories of services: develop and maintain estimates of probable construction cost, value engineering, project schedules, and construction schedules; lead and manage the Schematic Design, Design Development, Subcontractor Prequalification and Bidding process, Construction Documents, Construction and Closeout stages.
