*A feasibility study is currently being conducted for this project. An update should be available in late June/early July of 2022. The Town of Plainfield is requesting Statements of Proposal/Qualifications from interested professionals to perform Design and Construction Services for an ice rink recreational facility. In accordance with IC 5-23-5, the Town of Plainfield, Indiana (Town), invites any and all qualified parties to submit Statements of Proposal/Qualifications, under a public-private partnership, to design, obtain financing, and construct an ice rink recreational facility in Plainfield, Indiana. Any bid submitted on behalf of a trust must identify each beneficiary of the trust and each settlor empowered to revoke or modify the trust. Selected proposer will provide all design services, site work, labor, and material to construct the proposed project, including construction of a new ice rink / recreational facility. A summary of key aspects of the proposed project follow. o Site: The proposed site is the 10 acres directly south of Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center. Hendricks County Tourism Commission currently owns the property and is in discussions with the Town to make the site available for the project. o Building: The exact size of the building is currently unknown. Preliminary discussions show a need for 150,000 square feet in order to accommodate two ice rinks, a turf field, support area, pro shop(s), common area, etc. Each of the participating partners will work with the design team in order to program the appropriate space as required for their programs. The first deliverable from the design team is a program and schematic design for pricing. o Schedule: All parties should work through the programming and schematic design to arrive at a workable schedule for the project. It is expected the project will be delivered in early 2023.
