A timeline for the award is not yet determined.** The Housing Authority of the City of Brownsville (hereinafter, "the HACB") is a public housing agency created by resolution of the City of Brownsville in 1938 pursuant to the Texas Housing Authorities Law (now Chapter 392 of the Texas Local Government Code and federal law). The HACB is a unit of government and its functions are essential governmental functions. The property of the HACB is used for essential public and governmental purposes, and is exempt from all taxes, including sales tax on all its purchases of supplies and services. Deadline to Submit Written Questions: Monday, December 13, 2021, 4:00 P.M. C.S.T. Required bonds include a bid guarantee from each bidder, equivalent to 5% of the bid price and, from the successful bidder, one of the following: A performance and payment bond for 100% of the contract price The HACB reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in the IFB process, or to terminate the IFB process at any time, if deemed by the HACB to be in its best interests. The HACB is seeking bids from independent contractors with demonstrated professional competence and experience in demolition and repair
