The City of Bakersfield is requesting bids from experienced and reputable contractors for providing a Contract for Construction of HUD-funded Curb, Gutter & Sidewalk/Madison Area. Award, if any, resulting from this Invitation to Bid shall be for a one (1) year period. Liquidated Damages $500 per day Estimated Bid Value $391584.00 Project Duration One year Bid Bond 10.00% Payment Bond 100.00% Performance Bond 100.00% Bidder shall not be allowed to alter or negotiate contract language after the acceptance of Bidder's proposal. Failure to execute the contract without alteration may result in rejection of the Bidder's proposal and the retaining of a different Bidder by the City MBE/WBE - 15% (this percentage is a cumulative total of any combination of the two) The work consists of the construction of concrete curb and gutter. Work shall be assigned by the Streets Division and shall be in both commercial and residential areas of the City. The work shall be performed under the direction of, and to the satisfaction of the City of Bakersfield Public Works Department Streets Division. Contractor shall perform work in such a manner to avoid disruption of the normal vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
