Renovation of an educational facility in Salisbury, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Work consists of removal, disposal, replacement and installation of all exterior windows and doors with new thermally-broken aluminum storefront and entrance systems and thermally-broken hollow metal doors and frames. Certified Minority Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond to this solicitation notice. The contractor or supplier who provides materials, supplies, equipment, and/or services for this construction project shall attempt to achieve the result that a minimum of two percent (2%) of the total contract value is made directly or indirectly from certified minority business enterprises. All general contractors and subcontractors, including certified MBE firms, when bidding as general or prime contractors are required to attempt to achieve the MBE subcontracting goals from certified MBE firms approved by the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT). The contractor or supplier agrees to make a good faith effort to carry out the MBE requirements of this contract in a manner which is consistent with the efficient performance of the project. This project is a partially federally funded project. The contractor shall be responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements of partially federally funded public works projects. This project is subject to Davis-Bacon Act Wage Determinations as set by the Wage and Hour Administrator at the U.S. Department of Labor and as provided in Specification Section 000180. Section 000180 includes additional mandatory contract provisions. Each Bidder shall deposit with his proposal a Bid Bond in the amount of Ten Percent (10%) of the Base Bid. The form of the Bid Bond shall be AIA Document A310 Bid Bond - 1970 edition or equivalent. A Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond, in the full amount of the contract award shall be provided by the successful bidder prior to the execution of the contract. No Bidder may withdraw their bid within ninety (90) days after the date and time of bid opening. The Board of Education may extend the time and place for the opening of bids by facsimile notification to those known general contract bidders who have obtained copies of the plans and specifications through the Printer. All addenda will be posted electronically.Bidders are responsible for monitoring electronically for addenda. It is recommended that all bidders and subcontractors utilize full sets. Owner and Architect are not responsible for bidders and/or subcontractors not obtaining the information provided through the full set of contract documents The Board of Education of Wicomico County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive formalities, informalities, and technicalities therein. The Board reserves the right to contact a Bidder for clarifications and may, at its sole discretion, allow a Bidder to correct any and all formalities, informalities and technicalities in the best interest of the Board. The Board reserves the right to utilize existing Board or Cooperative contracts in the best interest of the Board. The Board reserves the right to evaluate existing Board or Cooperative contracts as Bids in the best interest of the Board.
