As of October 25, 2021, this project was awarded to Lakeside Roofing but awarded amount is not yet available. Pursuant to 70 ILCS 705/11k the Godfrey Fire Protection District is soliciting sealed competitive bids for the replacement of the roof on the Fire Station located at Station #2, 1712 West Delmar, Godfrey, IL 62035. Written Requirements are available by contacting Chief Eric Cranmer at 618-466-0131 or by email at godfreyfirechief@gmail.com. Late or incomplete bids will not be accepted or eligible for consideration. It is the bidders responsibility to assure and verify the actual receipt of its bid by the District by the submission deadline. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids after evaluation of bids for either budgetary reasons, a change in the procurement plans of the District, or the failure of any or all bids to be responsive or responsible as determined by the Board of Trustees. All bids must comply with and meet Prevailing Wage Act requirements and Public Construction Bond Act requirements as well as all of the District's Written Requirements. The following Construction Requirements apply to the work to be performed:
Contractor must be licensed and obtain and pay for any required building permit for the project.
Contractor will be required to remove the existing roof and prepare the building for proper
installation of the replacement roofing materials.
Contractor will be required to dispose of the materials from the existing roof removal including
removal of the coping tile of back wall, all nails and debris in the station yard on a daily basis.
Contractor will be responsible for any disposal fees.
Contractor is to install a roof which must minimally meet the following requirements, however
alternatives may be considered on reasonable explanation:
o Mechanically attach a layer of 2" over entire roof
o Mechanically ttach an 1/8" taper system at top flay roof
o Fully adhere 60 mil (black) EPDM
o Fully detail all penetrations and walls
o Install wood on top of walls to receive new metal
o Install new 2-piece metal roof edge (standard color)
o Price must include an appropriate allowance for required tuckpointing
The roof must be designed (1) to meet all applicable building code requirements and industry
standards and (2) to meet the needs of the District.
