Renovation of a municipal facility in Bishop, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

***As of January 8, 2022, the project has been awarded for the amount of $127,478.05.*** The Great Basin Unified Air Pollution Control District (District) seeks proposals from qualified contractors for services related to the removal and disposal of forty-two (42) existing windows and the supply and installation of new windows for the District at 157 Short Street, Bishop, CA 93514. This is considered by California Labor Code to be a Public Work, and Contractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations prior to bidding on this prevailing wage job if the bid exceeds $25,000. 1. Contractor to furnish all materials, labor, equipment, and supervision necessary for the removal of forty-two (42) existing windows and complete installation of forty-two (42) new retrofit windows at the District. 2. Windows to have the following specifications (or functional equivalents): a. Fiberglass frames, off-white or white in color. b. Appropriate screens for all operable windows. c. Window assemblies to be compliant with the 2019 California Energy Code and have a U-Value of 0.30 or lower and an SHGC-Value of 0.23 or lower. Achievement of these values may be through any combination layers of glazing, low emissivity or similar coatings and inert gases; however, the assembly must be appropriate and rated for installation at approximately 4,100 feet elevation. d. Windows to be WDMA Hallmark Certified and have an NAFS Performance Grade of LC-30 or better e. Approximate window sizes, operability, assemblages of multiple window elements and locations are included in attached Window Schedule, Window Diagrams, and Floor plans. Note that these are approximate sizes and final sizes of retrofit windows to be determined by the contractor prior to ordering of the windows 3. Windows to be installed according to the manufacturer's specifications and installation instructions. 4. Windows to be properly flashed, sealed, and waterproofed according to manufacturer's specifications and standard construction practices for retrofit windows. 5. The contractor shall remove and dispose of the existing windows and other construction debris. Contractor is responsible for any disposal costs including dumpster rentals 6. The contractor will need to provide temporary, secure coverings for the window openings after such removal as necessary to protect the building and its contents from weather and vandalism. 7. Contractor to caulk and seal both interior and exterior surfaces with a color compatible to the color of the new windows. 8. Contractor to adjust and clean all window and related components. Any stickers or labels are to be removed from the glass surfaces. 9. Contractor to fill any open cavities with appropriate installation materials to eliminate air infiltration and minimize heat transfer. 10.Contractor to keep all tools, materials, and equipment properly stored or removed from the worksite at the close of each day. 11.Exterior to be finished with either existing J channel, if possible, or new J channel as required or as needed. Bonding may be waived by the District for contracts under $25,000. Anticipated Schedule of Work, describing both a total project length in number of days, as well as a timeframe the contractor is available to do the project. The earliest start date for the project is January 10, 2022, and the latest end date desired is March 31, 2022.
