Location: Rehoboth Project Type: Highway - Construction Federal Aid No.: STP(BR-OFF)-003S(213)X MASSDOT - Bridge Replacement Bridge Number R-04-004 (Pre-Stressed Concrete Deck Beams) Ree d Street Over Palmer River The work under this Contract consists of the complete replacement of the Ree d Street Bridge (MassDOT Bridge No. R-04-004) over Palmer River in the Town of Rehoboth, Massachusetts. It includes the demolition of the existing superstructure and substructures, the construction of a new single span prestressed concrete deck beam bridge. The proposed bridge is comprised of hot mix asphalt overlay on 5" reinforced concrete deck slab with precast prestressed concrete deck beams supported by Micropile Foundation. During construction, the existing bridge will be closed and vehicular traffic will be detoured. Work under this Contract also includes approach roadway work to the limits shown on the Plans including, but is not limited to, roadway reconstruction, profile adjustments, roadway embankment work, bridge riprap protection system, highway guardrail, and other safety elements as shown on the Plans. The Contractor shall, as part of this work, coordinate with all utility owners before and during construction, including their permanent relocation requirements. The Contractor shall satisfy themselves by their own investigation and research regarding conditions and measurements affecting the work to be done and shall make their bid in sole reliance thereon. All work under this Contract shall be done in conformance with the 2021 Standard Specifications for Highways and Bridges, the Supplemental Specifications contained in this book, the 2017 Construction Standard Details, the Traffic Management Plans and Detail Drawings, MassDOT Work Zone Safety Temporary Traffic Control, the 1990 Standard Drawings for Signs and Supports; the 2015 Overhead Signal Structure and Foundation Standard Drawings, the 2009 Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) with Massachusetts Amendments; the 1968 Standard Drawings for Traffic Signals and Highway Lighting; The American Standard for Nursery Stock; the Plans and these Special Provisions.
