Experience with Uniform Administrative Requirements for Federal Awards (2 CFR 200) Benton County is seeking to address long-term detention facility needs with specific attention to COVID-19 distancing, separation, and ventilation safety issues for detainees and staff. In a time of heightened awareness of public health, this facility will change the inmate booking and intake process to accommodate physical and mental health screenings, assignment to specific specialized areas such as a mental health unit, sobering center, higher security felony area, misdemeanor pod as well as medical care and isolation pods. The design should take into account the unique needs of a congregate detention facility during a public health emergency as well as have practical use and application during non-public health emergency times. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
