Renovation of an educational facility in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Good Spirit School Division (GSSD) currently has the Yorkton Regional High School in need of infrastructure renewal. The high school was built in 1965 with an addition to the facility added in 2003. The school has a large main floor, a second floor in the classroom wings, and two basements for a total floor area of approximately 23,275 m2 (250,530 square feet). There is a crawlspace that runs under much of the building. The building currently has expiring infrastructure that has led to a need for upgrades and renovations to the facility in order to meet national building standards. In 2020, GSSD received approval from the Ministry of Education to proceed with renovation of the facility. The school will be occupied during the majority of the construction and the work will need to be phased. The project will include but is not limited to significant mechanical renovations to replace the existing HVAC system with a new system that will include a combination of both individual classroom ventilators and Roof Top Units (RTU's). The project will also include roofing scope, replacement of windows and cladding and the architectural, structural, electrical, and controls work (controls (BMS) upgrade associated with all the new and existing equipment) to support all the new systems.
