The Seattle School District No. 1 (District) is soliciting qualifications and proposals from experienced firms for pre-construction and construction services for the John Rogers Elementary Replacement Project. The proposed project is located at 4030 NE 109th Street, Seattle, WA 98125, on a 9.01-acre site. The project will build a new multi-story school of approximately 82,000 sq. ft. to provide permanent space for up to 500 students, grades PreK-5. Demolition of the existing building will occur after the school year 2022-2023 is complete. Construction is anticipated to be complete prior to the 2025 academic year. Students will be located off-site during the construction period. The construction cost is anticipated to be $58 million and includes hazardous material abatement, building demolition, site work, construction of the new school and off-site improvements. John Rogers Elementary Replacement Project: The John Rogers Elementary Replacement project will be a new multi-story school of approximately 82,000 sq. ft., to provide permanent space for up to 500 students in grades PreK-5. The John Rogers Elementary School project will include a photovoltaic (PV) system with the minimum size being ~21 kW in alignment with Seattle Energy Code C412. The pre-design efforts to date have included an installation of a ~500 kW PV system as a part of this project to support a Net Zero design. This Project funding includes the Seattle School District's BEX V Capital Levy, approved by Seattle voters in 2019.
