Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a laboratory facility in Lansing, Michigan. Working plans call for the addition of a 155,800-square-foot, two-story above grade laboratory facility; for the demolition of a laboratory facility; for the renovation of a laboratory facility; and for site work for a laboratory facility.
The State Lab is a 130,000 SF building constructed in the early 1990s containing laboratory and office space for state agencies. This project will focus on providing improvements to areas utilized by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The approximate scope will include a 19,800 SF two story addition at the south end of the building, a 700 SF addition at the north end, 5,300 SF of renovated space within the existing building, and the associated infrastructure and site improvements. Bid Package 2 is the Phase 2 two story addition building envelope. The package will consist of structural concrete, structural steel, masonry, roofing, metal panels, glazing, and metal framing work scopes. The bid package will be released for bid in early October 2021. The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
