Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Chicago, Illinois. Design plans call for the renovation of a 85,708-square-foot, one-story above grade laboratory facility; and for site work for a laboratory facility.
As of June 15, 2023, the architect just submitted schematic design. Advertisement for bidding is anticipated to occur in May 2024. Although a firm timeline cannot currently be established, construction is not expected to commence prior to third quarter 2024. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Chicago Forensic Lab (G0002) is an 85,708 square foot, one-story building established in 1996. The scope of work provides for replacement and upgrades to the HVAC, temperature control, and A/V systems, repair or replacement of the roof and drainage systems, and any other associated or supporting work at the ISP Chicago Forensics Lab. The A/E will need to determine if any components of this project are eligible for a utility company or other energy grant/rebate and will be responsible for preparing and submitting the grant application if the project qualifies for the rebate. A combined MBE/WBE goal of 20 percent is applicable to the A/E team. Some level of participation from both MBE and WBE firms is required to satisfy this goal (this requires including one or more MBE AND one or more WBE firms on the team). A VBE/PBE goal of 3 percent is applicable to the A/E team. The Illinois Works Jobs Program Act Apprenticeship Initiative will apply to all prevailing wage eligible work performed on this project. The interviews for this project are tentatively scheduled for November 23, 2021. APPROPRIATED AMOUNT: $4,800,100 The projects from this bulletin are scheduled to be presented at the December 14, 2021, Board Meeting, unless otherwise indicated.
