Renovation of a municipal facility in Charleston, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Maintenance & Repairs to adventure II Work schedule will be established with successful contractor prior to award. Work must be completed between November 1, 2021 and February 1, 2022. The vessel shall not be away from the park for more than 90 days. All work must be completed and the ship must be returned to CTL no later than February 1, 2022 1. Transport of Vessel oTransport of the vessel ADVENTURE-II from and back to park will be the responsibility of the successful vendor. Contractor must provide a SCPRT approved captain and crew to transport the vessel. Contractor will perform work at a boatyard within a 30-mile radius of park, so SCPRT staff and contracted craftsmen can easily access and conduct maintenance/repairs (not included in this solicitation). The successful contractor will have access to the inboard 180-hp Volvo D-4 Penta Engine and 28" propeller to assist in transport of vessel. A minimum of two work boats will be required by this contract, in addition to the diesel engine, to safely navigate the vessel from and back to the park. Past contracts have used 2 tugboats to and from the docks and timed the tides to safely pass under the Ashley River Bridge. SCPRT reserves the right to have Charles Towne Landing's shipwright travel with the ship during transport. SCPRT reserves the right to place a GoPro camera on board the ship to take video of the voyage for marketing purposes. SCPRT must approve the captain and crew chosen by the vendor to transport the ADVENTURE II. 2. Haul Out oHaul out: Haul out of ADVENTURE II by means of railway, travel-lift, or lift dock. If a travel-lift type of hoist is used, at least 4 straps must be used, and blocking shall be used between hull and lift straps where appropriate to prevent straps from damaging rails or channels. 3. Pressure Wash Hull, Block Hull - Pressure wash bottom of hull, propellers, shafts and struts to remove normal marine fouling. - Pressure wash on low setting to prevent damage to wood planking or seam caulking. - Provide appropriate blocking for the hull. - Provide access to ADVENTURE II by gangplank, ladder or other means. 4. Replace Zincs - Remove and replace all zincs. - Zincs are to remain unpainted. 5. Prep and Paint Bottom of Hull Below Waterline Bottom work, below the boot, is to include cleaning, scraping, sanding and painting entire bottom of vessel. The successful vendor must inspect areas below the boot for worm activity, caulking loss and general inspections of thru hulls, propeller, strut, shaft and zincs.
