Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Bjorkdale, Saskatchewan. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; and for the construction of a bridge / tunnel.

The existing 5-Span bridge located downstream from Barrier Lake ( Approximatly 1.5 km ) and over the Barrier River has reached its service life and is needing to be replaced. This bridge is referred to by the RM of Bjorkdale as the Hamel Bridge. Items of work to be completed within this contract are as follows: Traffic Accommodation and traffic signs at the bridge site only Dismantling of the existing bridge Removal and disposal of existing surfacing Disposal of unsalvagable treated timber Hauling and Stockpiling of salvageable treated timber to nearby yard Disposal of existing bridge materials Excavating of the existing roadway approach embankment to form the abutment, spill-through slopes, and to facilitate the construction of the abutments Supply and Construction of all substructure components Placement of granular filter blanket and riprap slope protection Supplying, hauling, placing, and compacting granular backfill material and earth backfill material behind both abutment backalls as identified on the Plans Erection of precast prestressed concrete stringers Preparing the road for surfacing on the completed bridge and approaches Installation of side mounted Type 4 Steel Bridgerails Installation of collapsible hazard markers Miscellaneous construction activities identified on the Plans and in the Special Provisions Proposals must also be accompanied by a Bid Bond or Certified Cheque in the amount of not less than 5% of the Total Bid Amount payable to the Rural Municipality of Bjorkdale No. 426. Should your bid be accepted by the RM, the Undersigned Bidder agrees to furnish the Performance Bond, the Labour & Material Payment Bond, and the Proof of Insurance pursuant to subsections 1200.10 and 1200.11 of the General Provisions.
