Site work for a water / sewer project in Suffolk, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
SCOPE OF WORK: Install proposed new pipe supports for 12" water main and 10" force main. Remove and dispose of existing crossing support beam. Patch any holes as a result of removing existing supports following the specifications in section 412 of the VDOT Road and Bridge Specifications. Install 2 approximately 30-foot I-beam replacements and support brackets. Install new pipe support devices, replace broken tie rods on existing 12" water main at transition from wing-wall into ground. All work shall be in accordance with the specifications, terms, conditions, and drawings herein. Questions concerning this project must be in writing and addressed to the Contract Officer stated herein; and, must be received no later than five (5) business days preceding the date that the bids are accepted. Owner as liquidated damages, and not as a penalty, the amount of two hundred dollars ($200.00) per calendar day for each and every part of a day thereafter that said work remains incomplete. The City reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to deduct liquidated damages from any outstanding amount due the Contractor.
