As of September 12, 2024, this project is no longer moving forward. The initial estimate came in over $20 million, which exceeded the project budget by over $5 million, and the funds were not available to start the project at this time. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference The Texas A&M University System Office of Facilities Planning and Construction (FP&C) on behalf of the Board of Regents of The Texas A&M University System (Owner) and Texas A&M University are soliciting statements of qualifications for selection of an Architect/Engineer (A/E) firm for the Doherty Renovation Building project located in College Station, Texas in accordance with the terms, conditions, and requirements set forth in this Request for Qualifications (RFQ). The Doherty building is a general purpose academic building with 38,755 gross square feet on the Texas A&M University main campus. The building provides offices and laboratory space predominantly for the Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering Departments. The project will replace the building's HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems. The project will also replace exterior windows, doors and the brick masonry will be repaired and cleaned. The renovation will also provide for increased energy efficiency and include ADA accessibility upgrades. The Planning Amount for this project is $20,000,000. The Planning Amount includes an Amount Available for Construction Contract (AACC) of $15,000,000. Fees, furnishings, other work, miscellaneous expenses, and contingencies make up the balance of the Planning Amount. This RFQ is the first step in the process for selecting a firm.
