Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Sanford, North Carolina. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; road / highway; and road / highway.

Phase 2 of this project utilizes the development of the adjacent SECU building to extend the bank entry drive through the park to connect to the existing main parking area. This will provide for signaled access into the park for tennis courts, dog park, pool, playground, and athletic fields. Three tennis courts will be constructed where the existing gravel parking lot is located and new paved parking with connecting sidewalks will be installed. This will allow for the gravel entrance by the dog park to be closed and converted into a maintenance road. Future phases would include upgrades to the swimming pool, development of an activity center for basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, dance, exercise classes, and staff offices. As of June 15, 2022, this project is currently in the Lee County - Finance FY 2023-2027 CIP . Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction Fy 2023. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2024. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
