The Georgia State Financing and Investment Commission (GSFIC), on behalf the Technical College System of the State of Georgia ("Using Agency" or "TCSG"), and Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, ("WGTC" or Owner) is seeking Statements of Qualifications from firms interested in providing design professional services for a project known as Project No.TCSG-379 Commercial Truck Driving & Diesel Technology Programs, at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College in Douglas, Georgia. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeks to identify the most qualified potential providers of the above-mentioned services. Some firms which respond to this RFQ, and who are determined by the Owner to be especially qualified, may be deemed eligible and may be invited to offer proposals for these services. The current CTD program is in a modular building that is 12 years old and is exceeding its lifecycle. The new facility will replace this outdated facility and provide real world training for our students along with upgrades to the latest technology. The Wiregrass Foundation and local business partners have been supportive and the opportunity to fill a vast void for Commercial Truck Drivers and Diesel Technicians is welcomed and urgent in our community. The Commercial Truck Driving and Diesel Technology Center will include classroom space, program labs, offices for faculty, and storage rooms. The labs should be equipped with the appropriate exhaust/ventilation systems, vehicle lifts, oil pit and return system, and eyewash stations. Specifically, half of the facility will house the Diesel Technology Program and will include a General Classroom (2), labs/bay areas (2), and faculty offices (2). The labs/bay areas (2) will feature 16-foot bay doors, oil pit and return system, vehicle lifts (2), LED lighting, overhead air-lines, 120 and 240 volt outlets; 200 psi air compressor, eyewash stations, overhead crane, and a tool storage room. The other half of the Facility will house the Commercial Truck Driving Program. This area will include classrooms (1), faculty office (1), lab/simulator areas with dimensions to be determined (1), LED lighting, and a storage room. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
