The City of Richmond is accepting bids for the construction of the Sidewalk Improvements - Package #1 (FY21) mobilization, maintenance of traffic (vehicular and pedestrian), street closures, sidewalk construction, sidewalk and curb demolition and replacement, handicap ramp installation, pavement patching, tree root work, tree removal, stump removal, adjusting utility castings, adjusting/replacing drainage basins, and all other work necessary to repair existing sidewalks. These sidewalk improvements/repairs will improve pedestrian access and safety along 600 Roseneath Rd., 800 W. Laburnum Ave., 900 W. Laburnum Ave., 800 Westover Hills Blvd., 1500 Westover Hills Blvd., 3200 Ellwood Ave., 4200 Patterson Ave., 4600 Forest Hill Ave., and 5200 Forest Hill Ave. Construction under the Base Bid includes, but not limited to the following: a. Installation of new sidewalk (concrete and brick) b. Remove and replace existing sidewalk (concrete and brick), c. Reset or replace granite curbd. Remove and replace existing concrete curb and gutter, e. Reconstruct existing basins in accordance with City Standards as directed by Engineer, f. Adjust existing utility castings to proper grade as needed, g. Reset sewer manhole castings to grade, h. Disposal of excavated and removed material, i. Installation of new wheelchair ramps in accordance with ADA requirements, j. Expansion/modification of existing tree wells by saw-cutting concrete sidewalk, k. Removal of existing Stumps, l. Pruning, cutting, shaving, cutting, and alternative methods for preparing street tree roots as determined by the City Arborist m. Removal or additions of street trees as determined by the City Arborist, n. Any other miscellaneous work as directed by the engineer.
