As of February 2022, a contractor has been identified, however it is unclear when construction will begin at this time. The Contractor shall posses a valid California Class B license at the time this Project is bid. Each bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to the Business and Professions Code and shall be licensed in the appropriate classification(s) of contractor license(s), for the work bid upon, and must maintain the license throughout the duration of the Contract. CONSTRUCTION COST ESTIMATE: $6.4 million dollars CONTRACTORS LICENSE: The Contractor shall posses a valid California Class B license at the time this Project is bid. BID SUBMITTAL INSTRUCTION: Bids shall be received in the office of the County of Madera, County Administrative Office, General Services Department, 200 West 4th Street, 4th Floor Suite 4200, Madera, California 93637, Attn.: Maritza Rodriguez and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above-stated time. PAYMENT AND PERFORMANCE BOND: The successful bidder will be required to furnish the County with a Performance Bond equal to 100% of the successful bid, and a Payment Bond equal to 100% of the successful bid, prior to execution of the Contract. All bonds are to be secured from a surety company that meets all of the State of California bonding requirements, as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120, and is authorized by the State of California, and all documents required by Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.66 CONSTRUCTION TIME: The successful CONTRACTOR (after receiving the Notice to Proceed) shall have three hundred sixty-five (365) calendar days to complete all work called for under the Contract Documents. The liquidated damages will be $1000.00 per day for the project delays that are determined to be attributable to the CONTRACTOR.
