The Project is located along Browns Valley Road between Redwood Road and Austin Way, also Westview Drive from Browns Valley Road to just passed Sunview Drive, and is described as follows: install 5,119LF of Molecularly Oriented Polyvinyl Chloride (PVCO) 12" C909 Pressure Class (PC) 305 water main, sixteen interties of varying diameter and material, incidental disposal of existing pipe along with asbestos cement (AC) pipe, new fire hydrants, disinfection, flushing, pressure testing, reconnecting services, trench paving, and striping. The Project must be fully completed within 140 Working Days from the start date set forth in the Notice to Proceed. City anticipates that the Work will begin on or about July 9, 2024, but the anticipated start date is provided solely for convenience and is neither certain nor binding. Construction of primary alignment shall commence at the intersection of Browns Valley Road and Austin. The City has an upcoming Street project that overlaps this Water project from Austin to McCormick. Contractor for this Water project shall complete this portion first. This Project requires a valid California contractor's license for the following classification(s): A - General Engineering Contractor. Each bidder must submit bid security equal to ten percent of the maximum bid amount, in the form of a cashier's or certified check made payable to City, or a bid bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California on the Bid Bond form included with the Contract Documents, in the manner set forth in Section 4 of the Instructions to Bidders. The bid security must guarantee that within ten days after City issues the Notice of Award, the successful bidder will execute the Contract and submit the payment and performance bonds, insurance certificates and endorsements, and any other submittals required by the Contract Documents and as specified in the Notice of Award. Performance and Payment Bonds. The successful bidder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the Contract Price, as further specified in the Contract Documents.
