Design and construction of a public pathway within Caltrans Highway 17 right-of-way along the westerly boundary of The Pruneyard Shopping and Office Complex. This project proposes to connect the existing Los Gatos Creek trail spur adjacent to the Pruneyard parking garage to the Portals at East Campbell Avenue, providing a safe, continuous connection from the Los Gatos Creek Trail to East Campbell Avenue. This project was originally a Condition of Approval for The Pruneyard Master Use Permit, but after repeated good faith efforts by the The Pruneyard to secure approval from Caltrans with no resolution, the City agreed to accept a $250,000 contribution towards the construction cost from The Pruneyard to pursue the project as a City project. City staff will continue discussions with Caltrans, and if Caltrans allows the improvements within their right-of-way, the City will design and construct the project with local Park Fees to fund the design, permitting, and construction management costs. Project is included in the City of Campbell's FY 2023 - 2027 Budget CIP. As of September 27, 2022, information regarding a design team or a general contractor is not available.
