Site work and paving for a road / highway in Apopka, Florida. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

As of January 27, 2022, the project has not received notice to proceed. Notice to proceed is tentatively scheduled to be given in April, 2022. The work consists of providing all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to widen SR 429 from West Road to SR 414 from four (4) general use lanes to six (6) general use lanes. Specifically, the project consists of widening to the inside (median) to accommodate an additional general use travel lane in each direction with full depth shoulders for a portion of the remainder of median areas to facilitate hard shoulder running in the future. Also included is a bridge replacement at CR 437A as well as all the widening of the other mainline bridges within the project limits to accommodate the appropriate shoulder widths, additional general use lanes and ramp modifications as shown in the bidding documents. The work also includes, but is not limited to, construction of sound barriers, overhead sign structures and intelligent transportation systems infrastructure in Orange county The Contract time for this project will be 960 calendar days. At the time of Bid submittal, Bidder as the "prime" contractor must be prequalified by the Florida Department of Transportation under Administrative Rule 14-22, Florida Administrative Code, in: A Combination of Flexible Paving, Hot Plant-Mixed Bituminous Course, Drainage & Intermediate Bridge. Additionally, prequalification in Pavement Marking & Intelligent Transportation Systems Contractor Additional Experience is also required at the time of Bid submittal; however, prequalification can be satisfied by the certification of the Bidder or by the certification of a subcontractor, a joint venture member or partner. A copy of the Bidder's current Certificate of Qualification in the specified class of work shall be submitted with the Bid. Failure to submit the certificates at time of bid or at the pre-award meeting as stated above may result in rejection of the Bid. Prequalification is required irrespective of the contract amount. Bidder shall comply with the applicable provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Only D/M/WBEs certified by one or more of the following agencies at the time the Bid is submitted may be counted toward the objective: Orange County, Florida; the City of Orlando, Florida; Florida Department of Transportation. Firms certified by the Florida Department of Transportation as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) will be accepted. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security made payable to the Central Florida Expressway Authority in an amount of five percent (5%) of Bidder's maximum bid price and in the form of a certified or bank check or a bid bond on form attached, issued by a surety meeting all requirements of the laws of Florida. The surety agent's name, address and telephone number shall be clearly stated on the Bond The General Specifications set forth CFX's requirements as to a Performance and Payment Bond. When the Successful Bidder delivers the executed Contract to CFX, it must be accompanied by the required Performance and Payment Bond. Proposals must be accompanied by a Proposal Guaranty made payable to the Central Florida Expressway Authority, of not less than five percent (5%) of the total Bid. The Guaranty shall be forfeited as liquidated damages if the Proposal is accepted and the Successful Bidder fails to execute the Contract under the conditions of the Proposal and said guaranty will be returned to the Successful Bidder upon the delivery of a satisfactory Public Construction Bond. All Bids shall remain open for acceptance by CFX for ninety (90) calendar days after the day of the Bid opening. The right is reserved by CFX to reject any or all Bids.
