Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Riverdale, Georgia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

As of October 5, 2023, a design team has been identified. Designated as a "local street" per the City of Riverdale's street classification system, Powers Street is both immediately adjacent to and parallel to SR 85 on its westerly side. Existing development along the easterly side of Powers Street consists of primarily the back side of commercial businesses (located along SR 85) and is mostly parking lots. The westerly side of Powers Street consists primarily of residential housing. The City envisions a new landscape for Powers Street as an avenue to connect the newly renovated Charter School, Police/Fire Station and other businesses on the northern end of Powers Street to Riverdale City Hall, located near the south end of Powers Street. The design will include preparing preliminary engineering and Plans, Specifications and Engineer's Estimates (PS&E). The Project consists of, but is not limited to the widening of Powers Street for a distance of approximately 4000 linear feet ('l.f."). Although the existing width along Powers Street varies, the majority of the roadway consists of two 10' lanes with minimal portions of curb & gutter (C&G) and sidewalk along the commercial side of the street. The design calls for widening the roadway to two 14' lanes (plus the addition of 24" C&G),and the addition of 5'-wide ADA-compliant sidewalks. The sidewalks are to be installed on both sides of the street. There is minimum R/W information available for Powers Street. However, some of the documents in the City's files indicate the R/W width can vary anywhere from 30' to 80'. Extensive survey information indicating R/W lines and lot boundary information are a necessary part of the proposal as well as R/W acquisition and construction easement documents. In addition, the project is to be designed as three separate independent phases. Additional details are contained in the RFP. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
