Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in El Paso, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 450-square-foot fire / police facility; for the addition of a fire / police facility; for the demolition of a fire / police facility; for site work for a fire / police facility; fitness / recreation center; and fitness / recreation center.
**As of February 10, 2022. This project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established.** The existing Fire Station No. 19 located at 2405 McRae Boulevard will undergo a renovation to include partial building demolition, interior demolition, and a new addition to comply with new fire station standards. Approximately 450 SF of the existing building will be demolished to allow for a new building addition to accommodate locker room, 4 restrooms with showers, exercise room, bunker gear room, and EMS supply and extractor room. In order to create fluidity through the fire station, we are proposing that all interior walls, plumbing fixtures, casework, ceiling, floors, doors, windows, etc. be removed. Leave only the shell of the building and its structural bearing walls. The renovation will include a new dispatch office, kitchen, living room, restrooms, officer's dormitory, lockers, showers, fitness area, bunker gear, janitor closet, decontamination room, EMS supply closet, extractor room, and new overhead bay doors. New plumbing system connection, new mechanical units,new light fixtures, data/communication, and a 20 year warranty roofing system. Each proposal must be accompanied by a bid bond naming the City of El Paso as obligee and duly executed by the offeror as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Owner, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total price (including base bid(s), option(s) and alternate(s). All Bid Bond Forms Must Contain Original SignatureS. A Performance Bond for all public works contracts in excess of $25,000. The performance bond shall be for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and conditioned on the faithful performance of work in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contract documents. b. A Payment Bond for all public works contracts in excess of $25,000. The payment bond shall be for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price for the protection and use of the payment bond beneficiaries who have a direct contractual relationship with the prime contractor or subcontractor to supply public work labor or material. Offeror agrees to commence work on a date to be specified in a written "Notice to Proceed" issued by the Owner. The Contract Time shall begin on the date to commence work specified in the Notice to Proceed and shall run for Two Hundred Seventy (270) additional CONSECUTIVE CALENDAR DAYS thereafter. Offeror shall substantially complete the project within Two Hundred Forty (240) CONSECUTIVE CALENDAR DAYS after the date to commence work in the Notice to Proceed. Offeror agrees to pay, as liquidated damages, the sum of Eight Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars and Zero Cents ($825.00) for each consecutive calendar day after the date of Substantial Completion, as hereinafter provided in the General Conditions. Offeror further agrees to pay as liquidated damages the sum of Seven Hundred Thirty-Five Dollars and Zero (735.00) for each consecutive calendar day after the expiration of the Contract Time for Remaining Work, as provided in Paragraph 6.8.3.1 of the General Conditions. The unit price quantities of this contract are estimated. The City reserves the right to reject proposals not in compliance with these requirements.
