All bids shall be accompanied by Bid Security in an amount of five percent (5.0%) of the sum of the base bid and all alternates.The form of this security shall be as stated in the Instruction to Bidders included in the Bid Documents for this project. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond written as described in the Instruction to Bidders included in the Bid Documents for this project. Bids shall be accepted from Contractors who are licensed under LA R.S. 37:2150-2192 in the areas of: Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction. Bidder is required to comply with provisions and requirements of LA R.S. 38:2212(A)(1)(a). No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after receipt of bids, except under the provisions of LA R.S. 38:2214. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause. In accordance with LA R.S. 38:2212(B)(2), the provisions and requirements of this Section, those stated in the advertisement for bids, and those required on the bid form shall not be considered as informalities and shall not be waived by any public entity. The University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) is requesting bids from qualified, Louisiana licensed Municipal and Public Works Construction contractors. The scope of work for this project consists of removal of Asphalt Surfacing from parking lot, removal of existing base course from parking lot, removal of concrete curb islands, regrading sub-base of entire parking lot, stabilizing of sub-base of entire parking lot (if needed), installing Geotextile Fabric & Class II base course, new asphalt pavement over entire parking lot, installing parking lot striping, adjusting catch basins and other miscellaneous work, as further described in the bid documents. The contractor shall fully complete all work during ULM's Christmas Break. Work can begin on December 8, 2021, and must be completed, including all Punch List items, by January 7, 2022. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
