Major upgrades, repairs and improvement to Wilson Pavilion of the McGill University located in Downtown Campus. The scope of the project includes exterior and interior renovations, structural improvements, upgrades to electrical and mechanical systems to accommodate programs of various teaching spaces in French language, art, multimedia language and social work. The program will developed over approximately 3,125 m2 net, distributed as follows: Approximately 650 m2 net of individual offices; Approximately 320 m2 net of various administrative premises; About 1400 m2 net of teaching and research premises; Approximately 290m2 net of shared student spaces; Approximately 460 m2 net of ancillary premises (washrooms, caretaker's rooms, mechanical rooms (excluding the attic, etc.). The envelope restoration work includes: - restoration of the foundations, waterproofing membrane, drainage panel and drainage system; - restoration of the façade masonry walls, repointing; - restoration of the existing wooden windows and replacement of aluminum windows with wood, wood/aluminum or aluminum windows; - complete demolition of the roof and its existing wooden structure to replace it with a roof with a steel structure. TIMELINE: Construction is underway. Project plans are being prepared by construction packages. Demolition work has been tendered, awarded and is already completed. Provincial authorities have increased the project budget and postponed the project commissioning time moving it from March 2024 to March 2025.
