Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Key West Nas, Florida. Completed plans call for the construction of a transportation facility; for site work for a transportation facility; and for paving for a transportation facility.

As of January 20, 2022, this project has not been awarded, bids and permits are currently under review with Monroe County. A timeframe for award has not been established. Please be advised that it is the bidders sole responsibility to ensure delivery of their bid and waiting until the bid opening to address or confirm your bid submission delivery will result in your bid being rejected. The intent of the contract is to provide for construction and completion, in every detail, of the work described. It is further intended that the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies required to complete the work in accordance with the plans, specifications, and terms of the contract. If any person contemplating submitting a bid for the proposed contract is in doubt as to the meaning of any part of the proposed Contract Documents, he may submit to the Engineer, Jacobs Engineering Group, 200 West Forsyth Street, Suite 1520, Jacksonville, Florida 32202, EMAIL: Lasa.Ennis@jacobs.com a written request for an interpretation of the proposed documents. This document covers work at Key West International Airport (EYW) to construct the Aircraft Overflow Apron and one stub taxiway. The project also includes the construction of mitigation areas to compensate for the wetland areas that will be impacted with the Aircraft Overflow Apron. The Aircraft Overflow Apron also includes the construction of overhead lights, new taxiway edge lights, and new taxiway signs. The existing signs will also be renamed to accommodate for the additional stub taxiway. The area will be regraded and additional drainage features will be constructed to accommodate for the additional impervious areas. Work is anticipated to start on or about January 2022 and be completed by October 2022. Access points, staging areas, and haul routes are as shown on Appendix A. All work within this contract will be performed by the contractor at the direction of the Airport with all airfield work coordinated by the Resident Project Representative (RPR). All AOA construction activity is supervised by an Airport Operations Personnel who is fully trained in Part 139, airfield construction management requirements and airfield operating procedures. The Resident Project Representative (RPR), Airport Operations Personnel, or other designated airport representatives with ultimate responsibility to ensure compliance with safety regulations and Airport Rules and Regulations, may order the contractor to suspend operations and move personnel, equipment, and materials to a safe location.
