Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Sanford, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

For South Development Area project The work may be generally described as full depth asphalt pavement construction of a taxilane, aprons, and vehicle access roads around and adjacent to the existing T Hangar buildings at the Airport, the milling and subsequent asphalt overlay of an existing T Hangar taxilane, and the drainage and stormwater management improvements associated with this construction. The work also includes the construction of a Portland cement concrete sidewalk and pad. Work included in the project shall consist of approximately 3,500 tons of asphalt pavement construction. Work elements shall include, but not be limited to, approximately 3,500 tons of 12.5mm bituminous concrete surface/base course, Gradation 2 (PG 76-22); Portland cement concrete construction; full depth pavement demolition; pavement milling; storm drain pipe and structure demolition; approximately 46,200 cubic yards of excavation; installation of storm drain pipes and structures; installation of an underdrain system; modifications to an existing stormwater management pond; pavement marking; and erosion control. Bid security in the form of a bid bond equal to 5% of the total bid is required. Contract security in the form of 100% Performance and Payment Bonds will be required. The goals and timetables for minority and female participation, expressed in percentage terms for the Contractor's aggregate work force in each trade on all construction work in the covered area, are as follows: Goals for Minority for Each Trade Participation 24.7% Goals for Female Participation in Each Trade 6.9% The Sanford-Lee County Regional Airport Authority reserves the right to waive any informalities or irregularities in or reject any or all bids and to award or refrain from awarding the contract for the work, whichever is deemed to be in the Owner's best interest. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held in the Conference Room at the Raleigh Executive Jetport on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. The purpose of this meeting will be to familiarize the prospective bidders with the proposed project. The meeting will cover contract scope, bid items, schedule requirements, and any questions from those in attendance. A representative of the Authority and the Engineer will be on hand to respond to questions from potential Bidders in attendance. Attendance is highly recommended, but not mandatory. Phase 1. All work associated with this phase shall be completed within 45 consecutive calendar days after the issuance of a Notice-to-Proceed for Phase 1 and as described in the Construction Sequence and Phasing Plan. Phase 2. All work required as part of this phase shall be completed within 150 consecutive calendar days as described in the Construction Sequence and Phasing Plan. Phase 3. All work associated with this phase shall be completed within 90 consecutive calendar days and as described in the Construction Sequence and Phasing Plan. Overall Project. All work associated with the overall project shall be completed within 210 consecutive calendar days as described in the Construction Sequence and Phasing Plan.
