Bids received after this time will not be accepted: 2021-22 PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROJECT DESCRIPTION OF WORK/SCOPE OF WORK: The work consists of furnishing of all necessary materials, labor, tools and equipment for the construction of roadway improvements consisting of cold milling, asphalt pavement overlay, areas of full depth removal and replacement, Asphalt Rubber Aggregate Membrane (ARAM), and the removal and replacement of deficient areas of concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter and driveway approaches. COMPLETION OF WORK: All improvements shall be completed within forty-five (45) working days after date set forth in the Notice to Proceed. Bid must be submitted electronically for the exact item(s) requested in the bid specifications. as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the contract for the work, the full amount of such guarantee to be forfeited to the City should said bidder fail to enter into said contract. CALIFORNIA LABOR CODE COMPLIANCE: Compliance with the prevailing rates of wages, apprenticeship employment standards, and Contractor registration program established by the State Director of Industrial Relations will be required. Affirmative action to ensure against discrimination in employment practices on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, or religion will be also required. No Contractor or Sub-Contractor may be listed on proposal unless they are registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5. PREVAILING WAGE RATES: As required by the California Labor Code, Section 1773 et seq. and incorporated herein by reference, the general prevailing wage rate of per diem wages as determined by the Director of Industrial Relation of the State of California shall apply. In accordance with the Labor Code, no workman employed upon work under this contract shall be paid less than the above referenced prevailing wage rate. A copy of said rates shall be posted at each job site during the course of construction. Any classification omitted herein shall be paid not less than the prevailing wage scale as established for similar work in the particular area, and all overtime shall be paid at the prevailing rates as established for the particular area. Sunday and holiday time shall be paid at the wage rates determined by the Director of Industrial Relations. The current prevailing wage rates as adopted by the Director are available at the office of the Board of Supervisors, Room 383, Hall of Administration, 500 West Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Said estimate and payment will not be made when, in the judgment of the City Engineer, the work is not proceeding in accordance with the provisions of the contract or when, in his judgment, the total value of work since the last estimate amounts to less than three hundred dollars ($300.00). DELIVERY AND OPENING OF PROPOSALS: Bids are to be submitted electronically online. Electronic Bid System will close exactly at the date and time set forth in the Notice Inviting Bids. Any licensee who considers himself qualified may submit a letter to the Agency from the State Registrar of Contractors that the license held qualifies the bidder to perform the work described within the contract and specifications.
