Demolition, site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Los Angeles, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a 47,082-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; water / sewer project; and for the renovation of a educational facility.
***The owner has determined a prequalified list of general contractors.*** This project will include demolition of existing Building 1800, a two-story approximately 47,082 GSF building, located at the center of campus, in preparation for the construction of the new Academic West building. Surrounding site work will also be partially demolished. In order to support existing earth grades and site amenities, a series of structural retaining walls will remain in place to stabilize the hillside and keep existing planters in place. A number of existing trees will also be protected in place and maintained through the length of demolition project. Scope of work also includes clearing all utilities from the project site, re-routing and reconnecting many of the utilities away from the site to maintain current utility services. Project scope also includes mechanical upgrades, replacing existing coils inside existing air handling units with new coils and patch and repair any finishes damaged during this upgrade in existing Great Hall Building 1900.
