This particular transit interest and procurement focuses on the L Line (Gold), specifically the Sierra Madre Station Parking Structure. Metro is seeking a qualified contractor to procure and install fire pump replacement at the Sierra Madre Parking Structure. The current fire pump in service is estimated to be 18 to 20 years old and to its determent is exposed to the elements, and as a result is showing corrosion on the housings for the pump and motor. In order to avoid any future pump failure, the project seeks to replace the worn pump and further improve the sustainability of the pump through an upgrade of the characteristics to provide a longer service life despite the systems exposure to the elements. The change does not change the brand or style or configuration, but improves the resistance to the elements with a request to change from drip proof to totally enclosed motor.
