Renovation of a mixed-use development in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.
This project is to facilitate the incorporation of the new Public Safety Building into the current City of Sandy Spring fiber network and allow for future network redundancy paths and easy maintenance. The new Public Safety Building (PSB) will provide a permanent location for City of Sandy Springs Police Department and Courts which require access to the City of Sandy Springs IT communications network. This project will provide a new field hub cabinet located at the SR 9 (Roswell Rd.) and Morgan Falls intersection. Included in the hub cabinet construction will be all fiber termination panels, layer 3 network switch (supplied by the City), power and communication connections, and testing. The Contractor shall provide the necessary machinery, tools, apparatus, other means of construction, and all materials and labor specified in the Contract Documents or as necessary to complete the City of Sandy Springs Project Public Safety Fiber. 1. The City will supply the layer 3 network switch. There is no other City furnished equipment to be installed by the contractor. 2. Bonds will be required for this project. Prime Contractor shall be Prequalified with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) for Work Class 935 - Fiber Optic System or Work Class 940 - ATMS. Questions are due no later than January 9, 2023, 5:00 p.m. Completion- 240) calendar days
