Renovation of an educational facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Persons or companies bidding on this project shall hold a current Utah Contractors License covering the type of work to be done and shall be bondable to the amount of the Contract. Q & A deadline: Feb 17, 2022 3:00:00 PM CST Bids will be in accordance with the Contract Documents prepared by University of Utah U Facilities and David L Jensen & Associates. The Bid Bond in the amount not less than five percent (5%) of the above bid sum, shall become the property of the University of Utah as liquidated damages for delay and additional expense caused thereby in the event that the contract is not executed and/or acceptable 100% Performance and Payment Bonds are not delivered within the time set forth. Upon issuance of the Notice of Intent to the selected bidder (a letter to the Contractor issued by U Facilities) and the official Contract (Contractors Agreement), the undersigned agrees to return the original signed Contract, and deliver acceptable Performance and Payment Bonds in the prescribed form in the amount of 100% of the Contract Sum for the faithful performance of the Contract, and deliver an acceptable Certificate of Insurance, all within ten (10) calendar days of the date on the Notice of Intent, unless a shorter time is specified in the Contract Documents. Selected Company must follow the requirements of the Salt Lake County Health Department for Covid-19. The University of Utah reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any formality or technicality in any bid in the interest of the University. The work of this project consists of Basement HVAC System improvement is as follows: Replace existing 2 pneumatically controlled VAV terminal units with re-heat coils with new Direct Digital Control (DDC) controlled single duct Variable Air Volume (VAV) terminal units with reheat coils, control module, and reheat hot water control valve. Revise existing ductwork as necessary for the installation of the new VAV terminal units. Replace pneumatically controlled space temperature sensor with new DDC temperature sensor wall mounted at ADA height for spaces with an expected occupancy of 5 people or less. For all other spaces, replace pneumatically controlled space temperature sensor with new DDC combined temperature and CO2 sensor at ADA height. Replace the existing outside air, return air, and relief dampers with new dampers and automatic DDC actuators. Provide new outside airflow stations in both the minimum outside air and economizer duct sections. Replace the existing AHU DDC control panel to incorporate the new control devices. Install a 2-way automatic temperature control valve at the AHU chilled water piping. Revise AHU sequence of operation to meet ASHRAE Guideline 36-2018 trim and respond control based on VAV terminal unit input. Install VFD drives on the building chilled water pumps. Install VFD drives on building heating water pumps. Provide all-new control panels and control devices for new equipment necessary for a fully integrated DDC system that can report back to the campus BAS.
