Mark boring locations, notify Underground Services Alert (USA) and conduct utility clearance (geophysical survey) of each boring location. Core and remove asphalt or concrete paving at eight (8) boring locations. Drill one (1) borehole to 5 feet below paved surface and seven (7) boreholes to 8 inches below paved surface using hand auger to collect soil samples for laboratory analysis of constituents of concern. As directed by LAUSD, backfill each borehole with soil cuttings and repairs all cored surfaces with concrete. Coordinate with designated laboratories for the sample delivery and analysis of constituents of concern. Coordinate chain-of-custody documentation and data quality review and acceptance. Prepare a Technical Memorandum to include field procedures, analytical results and laboratory analytical reports. Normandie Avenue Elementary School is located at 4505 S. Raymond Avenue, at the southwest corner of Vernon Avenue and Raymond Avenue in the City of Los Angeles, California. The school campus is within a developed urban area. Surroundings of the campus comprise of primarily residential (single and multi-family) and some commercial buildings, retail stores. Topography within the school campus and surrounding general area is fairly flat. Site location of the school campus and its vicinities are shown in Figure 1, Site Location Map. Based on the information provided to us, we understand that a new 2-story elevator shaft structure will be built at the southwest corner of Classroom Bldg. 1 within the northeastern portion of the school campus. Footprint area of this elevator shaft will be about 187 sq. feet with dimensions 11.33 feet by 16.5 feet. Project area within the school campus is shown in Figure 2.
