The proposed Work for the Kaw Water Treatment Plant Electrical and Mechanical Improvements, Contract No. 2 is generally described as follows: o Modifications to the primary and secondary basins including replacement of horizontal paddle mixers in the flocculation basins, the sludge clarifier removal rakes and structural framework in the primary basins, and weirs and launders in both basins. o Replacement of the filter media, recoating of the filter box walls, replacement of the surface wash piping and sweeps, and ventilation improvements for Filter Nos. 5-8. o Replacement of the lime slurry preparation, feed equipment, control panels, dust collectors, and bin vibrators, including recoating the floor, painting the ceiling, and recoating the exterior of the silos and fill piping. o Electrical and I&C improvements associated with the work. o Miscellaneous rehabilitation work.
