Renovation of a detention facility in Hamilton, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
The Commissioners' Chambers, located on the 2nd Floor of the Butler County Government Services Center, for Contract 21-10-011, Juvenile Justice Center Boiler Replacements. This is a State of Ohio Prevailing Wage Rate project. The Board of Butler County Commissioners reserves the right to waive informalities; to reject any and all bids or any portion of a bid; or to accept the bid of the lowest and best bidder as determined by the Board. Butler County reserves the right to award bids to multiple bidders. Bidders may receive bid awards for some but not all of the items on the specified list. This Invitation to Bid (ITB) is for the replacement of two (2) existing Bryan Steam Corporation Boilers located at the Butler County Juvenile Justice Center, located at 280 North Fair Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, 45011. The specifications for the existing boilers are as follows: Model #: AB120-W-FDG Bryan #: 990078 Serial #: 83535 National Board #: 42979 Year MFG#: 1999 Input MBH: 1200/600 Output MBH: 960 Relief Valve PSIG: 30 Heating Surface: 1480 Sq. Ft. MAWP Water PSIG: 60 Gas Type: Natural Orifice: 9/64" Max CFH Input: 1145 Min CFH Input: 577 Max Pressure Supply: 14" WC Min Pressure Supply: 7" WC Manifold Pressure: 2.9" WC Control Circuit: 120V/1PH/60HZ Motor Circuit: 120V/1PH/60HZ Min Relief Valve Cap: 1480 PPH/MBH There is no requirement to replace with a Bryan Boiler, this information is provided for reference only. This project includes the disconnecting of power and control wiring to existing boilers, disconnecting existing hot water and gas from boilers, removal of the existing flues, and the demolition and removal of the existing boilers and all demolition and construction debris from the space. It also includes the installation of two (2) natural gas boilers, complete with any and all necessary insulated hot water and gas piping, condensate piping, and the reconnecting of power and control wiring to the new boilers. It is preferred that the new flue for each boiler use existing roof penetrations, and it is believed that existing concrete pads, expansion tanks, air separators, airdampers and actuators may be reused. It is the responsibility of the awarded contractor to obtain any and all required permits, as well as schedule the inspections of the boiler installation and receiving an issued certificate of operation per Ohio Revised Code sections 4104.12 and 4101.20. In addition to the Boiler installations, two (2) circulator pumps, 1.5 horsepower, 460V/3PH motor, with cast iron housing are required, with two (2) variable frequency drives (VFD's), 480V/3PH installed to allow for soft start of pumps. The disconnecting of existing piping and wiring, modifying wiring, conduit, and piping for the installation, and reconnecting power and piping of the new pumps is included. It is believed that existing valves on either side of the pump are functioning properly and shall remain in place. The existing controls are to remain, and the control system information is included as an attachment to this document, as well as photos of the existing boilers.
