Work of the Project includes construction of a new elevator, pit, shaft, enclosure finish with equipment room at existing school building, and miscellaneous paving modifications for accessibility compliance, including but not limited to:
1. Site grading and drainage (ALTERNATE ONE)
2. Site paving (ALTERNATE ONE)
3. Utilities
4. Elevator pit, concrete and slab
5. Waterproofing of pit and foundation
6. Steel sheave beam and steel lintels
7. Various finishes and specialties
8. SBS modified bitumen roofing on metal deck
9. Standing seam roof to match existing.
10. Brick veneer and Portland cement plaster at exterior walls
11. Patching and finishing to match existing interiors.
12. Hydraulic Elevator
13. Doors, frame, and hardware; new and alterations to existing.
14. Plumbing and piping
15. Electrical
16. Voice/ data communication system
17. Tie-in to existing fire alarm system
18. HVAC split unit
All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the sum of the base bid and all alternates, and must be in the form of a certified check, cashier check or bid bond, as outlined in the Instructions to Bidders.
Completion- (180) consecutive calendar days, The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract amount. No bid may be withdrawn except as provided for by law. Bidders must meet the requirements of the State of Louisiana Contractors Licensing Law, La. R.S. 37:2150.1 through 2164, as amended. Preference may be given to materials, supplies and provisions produced, manufactured or grown in Louisiana in accordance with law. The Owner reserves the right, in accordance with law, to reject any and all bids. **Anyone attending the pre-bid conference will be required to wear a mask that covers the nose and mouth and be screened through a COVID-19 protocol before entering the building.
