Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a 12,176-square-foot fire / police facility.
New design-build construction of a 12,176 SF two-story fire station to include two drive-through apparatus bays, one back-in apparatus bay, apparatus support spaces, a public lobby with an accessible restroom and station office, captain's offices, kitchen, dining, daytime, and laundry rooms, private sleeping quarters, two sets of stairs, and an elevator. The surrounding sitework will include concrete and asphalt paving, site lighting, an emergency generator with enclosure, landcaping, fencing, and gates. Construction will also include a secure firefighter parking area with 20 parking spaces including EV charging space, and an area for apparatus washdown, tank fill, and training drills, as well as a smaller adjacent public parking area. This project has an additional potential alternate which would be a 2,000 sq ft masonry apparatus storage building with fire sprinklers. The Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District (hereinafter "RCFPD") is soliciting an Invite Only - Request for Proposals (hereinafter "RFP") from three pre-qualified DesignBuild Entities (hereinafter "DBE") to design and construct a new Fire Station 178 to serve the central portion of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California (hereinafter "Project"). The Project will be located at the corner of Town Center Drive and Terra Vista Parkway, Rancho Cucamonga. Project no: 2811.01, Project No. 10389.022 This RFP is the second step in the two-step Design-Build process set forth in the designbuild provisions of the Public Contract Code. Proposals shall be accepted from three DBE's pre-qualified by RCFPD in step one of the process, Request for Statements of Qualifications (hereinafter "SOQ") #20/21-/502, as listed below: o AMG & Associates, Inc. o Erickson Hall Construction Co. o Morillo Construction, Inc RCFPD proposes to construct a new Fire Station 178. The Project site is at the corner of Town Center Drive and Terra Vista Parkway in the City of Rancho Cucamonga. The Project site is adjacent to the Town Center Mall and across Town Center Drive from a new townhouse complex. The entire parcel encompasses 3.67 acres. The affected area proposed for the Project development is in the northern portion of the parcel and is approximately 97,186 square feet (SF) (2.23 acres). There is an adjacent area of 62,500 SF (1.44 acres) slated for future use. In the development area, the site will be filled to allow the apparatus to respond directly to Town Center Drive. There is a 5- to 6-foot elevation change at the most extreme location. Once infilled, the site will be developed with concrete paving and asphalt paving, site lighting, an emergency generator with enclosure, landscaping, fencing, and gates. Four (4) of the landscape areas will be utilized as bio-retention basins. The Project landscaping is designed to follow the City's landscape design requirements for drought-tolerant plant selection and low flow irrigation systems. Plant selection is suitable to bio-retention basins where appropriate.
